MULTIPLE ELEVATOR FLOOR REPAIRS WITH DURAFILL

ENECON has successfully completed many elevator floor repair and reclamation projects with our products. ENECON Quebec recently completed a multitude of elevator projects that used ENECRETE DuraFill, along with locally sourced colored quartz and marble aggregates.

The procedure was very straightforward, typically the elevator floors are covered with tiles, linoleum, etc. These materials are first removed, exposing the plywood sub-floor which tends to be about a quarter inch below the elevator door rail.

After the sub-floor is properly cleaned and sanded, a screed comprising of DuraFill, mixed with crushed white marble and another aggregate, is applied with a trowel and left to cure overnight. This helps to level the surface and prepare for its final steps.

To achieve an appealing ‘mirror-like’ finish, DuraFill resins are flooded over the previously applied DuraFill screed and left to cure for 48 hours.

This type of repair is one of efficiency and durability, as most of these elevator floors were completed over a weekend to provide minimal inconvenience to the building owners.

In order to maintain the shine on the flooring; the floors should be cleaned and waxed regularly. Additionally, cleaning crews point out that the new finish eases the ability to clean and maintain the floors.
