  • Problem Chemical Attack and Concrete Repair
  • Country United States
  • Project Goal

Repair damaged concrete for a diverter box at a wastewater treatment plant and protect it from the aggressiveness of hydrogen sulfite.

  • Products Used CHEMCLAD GP, CHEMCLAD P4C, DuraFill, and DuraQuartz
  • Status Completed

After grit blasting the concrete deep damage was discovered and all four sides would have to be repoured with epoxy and built back up to size. The ENECRETE DuraFill along with the ENECRETE DuraQuartz were selected to rebuild this box. Both of these materials have outstanding adhesion and have been proven to work in other applications. These products are 100% solids and will not shrink while they cure and can bond to the concrete and the rebar.

Once the DuraFill was cured the forms were stripped off and then the folds or uneven sections were smoothed out with the ENECRETE DuraQuartz.

The final step was to topcoat the box using the CHEMCLAD GP epoxy coating to protect this diverter box from any further hydrogen sulfide chemical attack!
