A mid-western U.S. healthcare company was concerned their main entrance roadway bridge was an eye-sore to the hundreds of employees and visitors that crossed it each day. The cost to replace the bridge was over $250,000.

After consulting their local ENECON Field Engineering Specialist, the maintenance engineers decided to repair and protect the bridge rather than replace it. A low cost, but effective, solution to their problem.

After a new asphalt roadway was completed, ENECRETE DuraFill was used to repair all of the broken concrete areas on the curb, sidewalk and over the railing on the water side of the bridge.

Next, a thin layer of DuraFill with an aggregate mixed in was applied to the entire concrete surface to seal and provide slip-resistant properties. Two coats of CHEMCLAD SC in haze gray were then applied.

The metal railings were prepared with grinders followed by two coats of CHEMCLAD SC in white.

The total cost of this application was approximately $30,000, significantly cheaper than a full bridge replacement.

The facility maintenance engineers, as well as the company senior management were thrilled with the results.

ENECRETE DuraFill is a two component, 100% solids, high performance polymer system specifically designed for broadcast flooring applications as well as for filling deeper holes and cavities in concrete. For more information on DuraFill please visit: ENECRETE DuraFill
