A worldwide known contractor with office in both Cyprus and Greece, has recently reached for ENECON Mesogios Ltd for assistance.

These cylinder rods are a part of the boom lift cylinder assembly of the Crane H.R.T –Grove RT 755.

They are 6’’ in diameter and 3.5 meter length. The relieve valve is adjusted to 2500psi.

The two chrome plated shafts experienced advanced pitting and the client needed to find a quick solution.

Apart from the pitting, the chrome plating which was recently repaired, had failed at one part of a shaft.

ENECON Mesogios offered to repair the damaged rods. The job was done within 5 working days and the client was very happy.

The two large rods were put on a lathe to clean up any corrosion and pitting. The rods were first degreased aiming to eliminate any oils and dirt. Following, ENECON’s DurAlloy was applied proudly to the surface. DurAlloy cures to a metal-hard material creating a permanent bond. FINAL STAGE After machining down to the desired size, extra DurAlloy was added by hand to fill in small air holes. The two rods were then sanded. Finally, we proceeded in rubbing some molybdenum di-sulfide anti-scuff paste in order to achieve a smooth surface for the seal.
