A Tennessee electrical utility was experiencing leaks in electrical cabinets in several locations across the state. When rainwater gets into these cabinets and on to the critical equipment inside, the equipment shuts down.

When this happens, it costs the electrical utility approximately $100,000 in repairs and outage costs. Those repairs can take up to 4 months to complete, depending on the extent of the damage. ENECON Tennessee was given the opportunity to provide a viable solution to the electrical utility.

Because of limitations on pressure washing, the cabinet roofs were wiped down with degreaser. The cabinet walls were able to be pressure washed. The seams were covered with a special roofing seam tape.

Then two coats of ENESEAL CR were applied by roller to the roof. Two coats of ENESEAL CR were then spray-applied to the cabinet walls. Each cabinet only took three days to complete for a fraction of the replacement cost.

This type of preventative maintenance saves the electrical utility hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
