ENECON Italia flies in to repair the decks on this tanker in the Adriatic Sea

This oil storage tanker ship is permanently moored off the coast of Italy and supplies oil to a local power company.

The ship is 30 years old and needed to be re-certified by the Italian ship inspection registry RINA in order to be able to continue in service for another 5 years.

The deck was badly pitted from seawater corrosion and the RINA inspectors informed the ship’s owners that it needed to be repaired and protected before they would re-certify the vessel.

RINA then suggested that the ship’s owners contact ENECON Italia to get their recommendations for a cost effective and commercially viable repair.

DuraFill with locally sourced aggregates was suggested as a cost-effective method to repair and fill all of the pits in the steel deck followed by an application of CHEMCLAD SC with non-slip aggregates to provide long-term corrosion protection to the deck as well as a slip-resistant surface.
