This 25 year old cooling tower located in downtown Seattle was built inside a structure with steel beams and a roof above it making it a very difficult candidate for replacement without involving major structural demolition and rebuilding.

The local ENECON Field Engineering Specialist was contacted to help find an affordable solution that would provide a minimum of 9-10 years life extension to the cooling tower.

The interior of this cooling tower was grit blasted. The doubler plates were ad-hered in place then faired with DurAlloy. Two coats of CHEMCLAD SC were then applied. The fan shroud was coated separately with ENESEAL CR.

A local mechanical engineering company replaced the fill, strainers, nozzles, shaft, bearings, as well as fabricated and installed several new stainless steel replacement pieces.

Technicians from both companies worked hand-in-hand on the project to complete the job for their client on time and on budget. The estimated cost to replace this cooling tower would have been 4 times the cost of this reclamation project.

This is just one example of the many cost-effective, commercially proven solutions ENECON has provided over the years to assist their clients in realising the optimum value for their investment.
