0336- Vacuum Truck Tank Repaired

Industry: Water / Wastewater / Desalination
Problem: Corrosion / Erosion, Leak repairs, Chemical Attack
Project Goal: Protect a 1,500 gallon steel vacuum truck tank
Location: United States
Status: Completed
Project Description

A Florida municipality has been using ENECON products for many of their repair and preventative maintenance needs. This most recent Repair-Don't Replace project was a 1,500 gallon steel vacuum truck tank.

The interior of the tank experienced large amounts of rust and was in desperate need of a repair.

The process started by manually removing all the pack rust, then the entire vessel was grit blasted and cleaned. After blasting, inspection revealed numerous holes in the tank wall and significant failure to the main 10"diameter x 7' long main suction line in the top of the tank.

The main suction line is continuously welded to the interior tank wall, so wrapping the line was out of the question. ENECON repaired the line by fabricating a steel collar, coating the existing pipe with CeramAlloy CL+AC and then coating the interior of the sleeved replacement with CeramAlloy CL+ACDurAlloy was then applied for resurfacing the new pipe and all the other holes in the tank.

Finally, two coats of CHEMCLAD SC were applied to provide protection for the entire interior of the tank.

The municipality saved over $30,000 by repairing the truck, instead of replacing it! If your equipment or facility is in need of a repair, contact me today and let me show you how ENECON can provide a solution for your need.
