Project Goal
To repair and protect large ammonia storage tanks

Very large ammonia storage tanks located at a steel manufacturing plant in northern India were severely corroded after years of exposure to chemical fumes and atmospheric corrosion. The plant’s maintenance engineers were in need of a chemical resistant solution.
The local ENECON Distributor in the region had previously arranged for the plant to conduct internal testing of ENECON’s CHEMCLAD SC. The SC exceeded the plant’s expectations so it was the obvious choice to solve this corrosion issue.
All previous failed coatings were removed by grinding the tanks surface. A two coat system of CHEMCLAD SC was applied to protect the surface from future corrosion. The engineers were so pleased with the results, future projects have already been planned.
